The Waterman ballpoint pen is just as popular as the famous Waterman fountain pen, but the price is generally quite a bit lower. However, you certainly do not sacrifice quality one bit, when compared to the more expensive Waterman fountain pens, you just sacrifice having a fountain pen. It is arguable that fountain pens are more dependable than rollerball pens, but that doesn’t mean that fountain pens don’t have their weaknesses along with their strengths. For example, the consistency of the text that fountain pens create is not very good, while ballpoint points are perfectly consistent, due to their tiny rolling ball. In fact, this is one of the best things about the Waterman ballpoint pens, and is the main reason that many people prefer a Waterman rollerball pen over a fountain pen.

As far as the quality of the Waterman ballpoint pens, most of them are extremely durable, and offer truly amazing (and unique) craftsmanship. Many of the Waterman rollerball pens are made with solid gold, and the more expensive ones are sometimes made with small diamonds. However, as with any pen that has diamonds in it, be prepared to spend up to $500 or more. Also, just like any good ballpoint pen, you can easily insert ink refills if the pen ever runs out of ink. This is very fast and very easy to do, and is mess free. This is yet another reason why so many people will go with a Waterman ballpoint pen over one of the more expensive (and harder to maintain) Waterman fountain pens.

The Waterman expert ballpoint pen, and the Waterman hemisphere ballpoint pen are two of the most popular (and reasonably priced) Waterman pen models out there, at least when it comes to the Waterman ballpoint pen series that is. Both pens can be bought for about $50 or less, depending on what particular materials have been used to create the pen. You can get a pen with gold in it for that price, but if you want diamonds, you will have to pay about 10 times that amount.
